We aim to make the Winston Prep admissions process simple, stress-free, and intuitive. If you need additional support to navigate the process, our admissions experts are eager to help.

You can start the application prior to participating in an Open House. Winston Prep's online application offers options for immediate placement (for the 2024-2025 school year) as well as for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Attend an Open House

    To further understand your child’s learning profile and Winston Prep’s mission and educational philosophy, parents/guardians are invited to attend our Open House. Professionals who are interested in learning more about Winston Prep are also welcome to attend! Please note: This is an adults-only event.
  • Apply Online

    To begin the admissions application online, please create a secure account on our website where you will be asked to share your child’s most recent neuropsychological or psychoeducational evaluation, as well as provide information regarding your child’s academic journey.
  • Application Review

    At Winston Prep, we utilize a rolling admissions process throughout the school year. Applications are reviewed by the Director of Admissions. Immediate placement is possible if your child is a match for our community.
  • Interview & School Visit

    If it is determined that your child’s learning profile fits with our educational philosophy, our Admissions team will contact you to schedule a school visit. During your child’s visit, our Admissions Director will conduct further testing, coordinate an interview with one of our Deans, and have your child visit a class to give them a sense of the Winston Prep experience.
  • Decision

    Following your child’s visit, subsequent parent meeting and review of your child’s learning profile, you will be notified by the Director of Admissions as to the appropriateness of fit within Winston Prep’s educational mission and model.

Winston Prep is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). Likewise, it is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Admissions policies at Winston Prep conform to the National Association of Independent Schools’ (NAIS) Principles of Good Practice for Admission to Independent Schools. Winston Preparatory is also a proud member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).
