Dear Winston Families, Colleagues and Friends,
 
At Winston Prep, we consider the ongoing assessment of our students’ response to instruction to be one of the most valuable steps that drives effective program development. While initial student goals and strategic plans to reach those goals stem from thoughtful collaboration and a keen understanding of each student’s strengths and needs, we recognize that continually assessing our students’ academic and social emotional skills allows for a nuanced ability to meet students where they are each and every day. 
 
Our continuous collaboration amongst faculty and resource sharing led by the Winston Innovation Lab allows for each student’s teaching team to collectively interpret formal and ongoing informal assessments, determining how best to remediate challenges applying evidence-based approaches while supporting strengths in the most effective way.
The upcoming spring formal assessment period provides us a moment to pause, reflect and appreciate how our approach to assessment diverges from conventional education as we embrace the complexity of our students and lean in with curiosity and expertise. At Winston Prep:
