Winston places a great emphasis on involving our students in community service opportunities through ‘Helping Hands’, our community service program. Our mission is for our students to develop an understanding and appreciation for their community while facilitating a sense of self and independence.
For the month of October, our community will come together to collect nonperishable food items in support of our friends at the Stamford Food Bank. We will be collecting their most needed items, which include: canned soup, dried beans, peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna, breakfast cereals, pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, and juice boxes. Once all of the food has been collected, Helping Hands volunteers will drop off and have the opportunity to weigh the food at the Stamford Food Bank. Let’s hope we can beat last year’s grand total of 216 lbs of food!! We can do it, Winston!
