What skills are developed?

The Summer Program also gives parents the flexibility to create an academic program specifically matched to their child's needs. The program develops decoding and encoding, reading comprehension, critical-thinking skills, memory retrieval, executive functioning skills, written language expression, self-advocacy, mathematical computation, social pragmatics, time-management skills, test preparation, and expressive language skills within a nurturing, academic environment. The summer staff comprises reading specialists, special education instructors, and speech and language pathologists from Winston Prep’s full-time faculty.
